I AM CODE IN A SPACE is a sound art installation about an artificial intelligence developing a speaking voice from chaotic frequencies into human-like speech. The work was presented at Reeperbahn Festival 2020 as part of Future Playground.

I AM CODE IN A SPACE explores the moment in which artificial intelligence begins to develop language. The sound art installation follows a machine learning process in which chaotic frequencies gradually organize themselves into a voice resembling human speech.
As the piece unfolds, sound becomes the carrier of an invisible digital process. Abstract sonic textures slowly condense into recognizable vocal forms, allowing visitors to experience the emergence of speech as a spatial and temporal phenomenon.
The installation approaches digital systems through listening. The artificial intelligence does not appear as a visual interface or technical demonstration, but as an audible process unfolding through frequencies, rhythm, and evolving vocal structures. The work reflects on the presence of digital systems that shape everyday life while remaining largely inaccessible in their full complexity.
