Polygon Playground is an interactive audiovisual installation at DARK MATTER Berlin. Combining responsive light structures with immersive spatial audio, the work transforms visitor movement into a continuously evolving audiovisual environment.

The installation reacts dynamically to movement inside the space. As visitors move through the environment, light and sound continuously reshape one another, turning interaction itself into the central compositional principle of the work. Rather than following a fixed sequence, the installation unfolds through changing audiovisual constellations generated through participation and motion.

We developed the interactive sound environment as an integral part of the installation’s responsive system. Spatial audio reinforces movement, orientation and proximity while continuously adapting to visitor interaction. Sound and light operate together as one interconnected feedback structure, allowing the environment to evolve collectively through participation.

Our contribution included interactive sound concept development, composition and spatial audio integration. Polygon Playground was created as an immersive audiovisual environment where movement becomes part of the composition itself.

PROJECT SCOPE
  • Role Of Sound
Sound reinforces movement, orientation and interaction within the installation, transforming visitor activity into spatial audiovisual feedback.
  • Mode Of Encounter
Visitors move freely through an interactive environment where their actions directly influence sound and light behaviour.
  • Sound Logic
Sound and light respond dynamically to movement, generating continuously changing audiovisual relationships throughout the installation.
  • Source Material
The installation is based on visitor movement and interaction inside the audiovisual environment.
  • Production Role
We developed the interactive sound concept, composition and spatial audio environment for the installation.
  • Sound System
A spatial audio environment synchronized responsive sound composition with the installation’s interactive light system.
