History of the Site is an exhibition at the Humboldt Forum examining the centuries of transformation embedded within the site of the Berliner Schloss. Across different rooms and media installations, the exhibition traces how the location has continuously changed through political, architectural, and cultural shifts.
For the exhibition, we developed a continuous sonic framework that connects the individual exhibition elements into one shared atmosphere. Machine-like timbres and fluctuating harmonies create a soundscape positioned between technical motion and historical memory.
The sound supports the exhibition’s perspective of the site as a place shaped by ongoing transformation. Rather than functioning as isolated media sound, the compositions establish a coherent sonic identity across the exhibition spaces.
Our work included the overall sound concept, sound design, music composition and production, programming, mix and master, as well as on-site implementation for the exhibition environment.
