RESEARCH WALL is a kinetic installation at the Humboldt Forum Berlin presenting interwoven scientific narratives through movement, audiovisual media and spatial sound. The project combines kinetic choreography with layered storytelling, allowing multiple research perspectives to unfold simultaneously across the installation structure.
Scientific interviews, research material and narrative fragments move continuously through the wall system, creating overlapping threads of information and perspective. Rather than presenting isolated stories sequentially, the installation operates as a continuously evolving narrative field in which movement, image and sound remain tightly interconnected.
We developed the spatial sound environment as a connective structure guiding visitors through the installation’s shifting research narratives. Sound supports orientation, pacing and emotional continuity while linking separate narrative threads into one coherent perceptual environment. Spatial audio and composition continuously adapt to the movement and temporal progression of the kinetic system.
Our contribution included sound concept development, composition and spatial audio integration. The project treats sound as an integral narrative layer within the installation, shaping how visitors perceive movement, information and connection across the evolving research environment.
