CHOM5KY vs CHOMSKY created by Sandra Rodriguez. A co-production of the National Film Board of Canada and SCHNELLE BUNTE BILDER, with support from Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg.
CHOM5KY vs CHOMSKY is an immersive installation exploring language, conversation and artificial intelligence through machine-driven dialogue and interaction. The work creates an artificial conversational environment in which visitors encounter evolving exchanges between human thought and machine-generated systems.
The installation combines dialogue, interaction and audiovisual media into a continuously shifting perceptual space. Questions surrounding language, cognition and artificial intelligence unfold through conversation and interaction, allowing visitors to move through an artificial world shaped by communication and response.
We contributed composition, sound design and interaction sounds for the installation. Sound supports the atmosphere and perceptual rhythm of the conversational environment while reinforcing the installation’s immersive character. Spatial audio extends the sense of depth and presence within the artificial world without overtaking the conversational structure itself.
Our contribution focused on composition, interaction sounds and spatial sound design. The project explores how immersive environments can shape the perception of artificial communication systems and machine-driven interaction.
