EVENT HORIZON is a sound and light installation reflecting on the physical and philosophical threshold of a black hole. The work explores questions around time, information and perception through an audiovisual composition built around the gradual transformation of the human voice.
At the centre of the installation is a familiar voice that slowly dissolves into textures, fragments and sonic particles. As visitors move through the room, the sound shifts between recognisable speech-like material and abstract spatial compositions. Light and sound unfold together as one atmospheric environment.
The project approaches black holes not through scientific explanation, but through sensory interpretation. The installation focuses on the instability of orientation and the surreal condition of crossing an invisible boundary beyond which information can no longer be perceived in familiar ways.
We created the sound concept, composition and sound design for the project, developing the sonic structure around the transformation of a single recorded voice into an evolving immersive sound environment.
