Hydrosfeer is a kinetic sound installation by Boris Acket where sculptural movement, white noise and spatial sound translate the evolving dynamics of a thunderstorm into a choreographed audiovisual composition.

Hydrosfeer is a kinetic sound installation by Dutch artist Boris Acket exploring the dynamics, movement and temporal behaviour of thunderstorms. Combining sculptural movement, light and sound, the work transforms atmospheric tension into a continuously unfolding audiovisual composition.
At the centre of the installation, a large kinetic structure moves through choreographed states of accumulation, release and silence. The sound composition is built from processed white noise, shaped into evolving sonic layers that mirror the changing behaviour of a storm system. Rather than functioning as illustration, sound and movement operate together as one interconnected temporal structure.
The installation unfolds across three distinct storm states. Periods of near stillness gradually build toward dense sonic and kinetic crescendos before dissolving again into silence and suspension. Spatial audio extends these shifts throughout the installation environment, allowing visitors to perceive the storm not as a fixed event but as a slowly transforming physical condition.
We developed the sound concept and immersive sonic composition for the installation together with Boris Acket. Our contribution focused on shaping the relationship between sculptural movement, white noise and spatial perception through a continuously evolving sound environment.
