For Milan Design Week in Zona Tortona, Miele presented a large-scale kinetic installation built from 730 moving mirror prisms. Spanning 80 by 5 meters, the structure functioned simultaneously as sculpture, reflective surface, and projection architecture.

The installation combined motion, light, and projected visuals into a continuously shifting spatial composition. The changing dramaturgy of the visual sequences created distinct atmospheres throughout the work, opening moments of stillness as well as larger orchestral passages.

We developed the sound concept and composed the musical framework accompanying these transformations. The sound moved with the visual pacing of the installation, supporting transitions in scale, density, and intensity across the piece.

Our work included music composition, sound design, mix, and master, shaping the acoustic identity of the installation for its presentation during Milan Design Week.

PROJECT SCOPE
  • Role Of Sound
Sound accompanied the evolving visual dramaturgy of the kinetic mirror structure, supporting shifts between intimate and orchestral moments.
  • Mode Of Encounter
Visitors experienced the work as a spatial environment combining moving mirror prisms, projection visuals, and composed sound.
  • Sound Logic
The compositions evolved alongside the changing visual sequences, moving through different tonal and dynamic intensities over time.
  • Source Material
The musical material was developed in response to the kinetic movement of the mirror structure and the motion-design visuals.
  • Production Role
We created the sound concept, music composition, sound design, and final audio production.
  • Sound System
Sound was presented as part of the large-scale installation environment during Milan Design Week.
