Sound Scenography

This cross-media installation makes the latest scientific perspectives on the global interconnectedness of our planet's ecosystems emotionally tangible for the public.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

MYRIAD is a project by the Interactive Media Foundation and Filmtank in co-creation with Miiqo Studios, Context Film and Artificial Rome. The installation MYRIAD. Where we connect. was produced with the support of the Frankfurter Kunstverein for the exhibition.

The Installation

Through a harmonious blend of art, science, and storytelling, this immersive project invites visitors to explore the beauty and vulnerability of global animal movements. It serves as a poignant reminder of our shared existence within a fragile ecosystem.

MYRIAD is divided into four chapters, three of them dedicated to a different realm: Water, Air, and Land. Within these chapters, the tales of diverse animal species unfold. We witness their migrations, their struggles, and their resilience. The Anthropocene — the epoch marked by human impact — casts a shadow over their lives, altering landscapes and disrupting ancient patterns.

A Living Soundscape

At the heart of MYRIAD lies a living soundscape evoking the impression of a sonic ecosystem. Each chapter — Water, Air, Land — unfolds with distinct sounds: fluid whispers, weightless echoes, and grounded vibrations. Due to the spatiality of the soundscape visitors encounter a symphony of sounds coming from different parts of the room.

In addition to the sound we designed a haptic feedback for the interaction. Here, low-frequency sound becomes a tactile force, resonating through three massive carbon monoliths. Visitors feel the vibrations, forging a physical connection with the content. These monoliths—silent witnesses to migration—are touchpoints for reflection and interaction.
