Icon’s World is an interactive exhibition at the Volkswagen Group Forum Berlin, where projected future worlds and spatial sound merge into an immersive environment for mobility, architecture and technology.

Icon’s World is part of the exhibition “ICONIC – A Timeless Journey of Culture, Society and Mobility” at the DRIVE. Volkswagen Group Forum in Berlin. The installation explores how cultural icons shape mobility, architecture, technology and design, while projecting speculative visions of the future through an interactive audiovisual environment.

At the centre of the exhibition stands the immersive room ICONS WORLD, a 270° multimedia projection space developed by flora&faunavisions. Across a structured 12-minute sequence, visitors encounter changing visual worlds focused on future mobility, self-sufficient architecture and emerging technologies. Interactive touch interfaces allow visitors to influence parts of the installation, including the activation of a force-field sequence driven by kinetic interaction.

We developed five compositions and the spatial multichannel sound environment accompanying the installation. The sound scenography connects the exhibition’s changing visual chapters and supports the transitions between historical references, speculative future scenarios and interactive moments. Spatial audio became part of the installation’s temporal structure, linking projected imagery, movement and interaction into one continuous perceptual environment.

Our contribution focused on composition, sound design and the installation’s sonic identity. Through multichannel sound, we shaped how visitors move through and perceive the audiovisual environment as one integrated exhibition experience.
