Created on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe, Becoming Marilyn Monroe presents the first immersive exhibition dedicated to her life and legacy.

The project retraces the transformation from Norma Jeane to Marilyn Monroe, reflecting on fame, freedom, and self-determination. It reveals a woman who shaped her own image and identity, and whose story continues to resonate today.

Music acts as a central layer of this perspective. Reinterpretations of existing songs meet original compositions, unfolding across different stylistic expressions. We developed the sound scenography as a coherent musical narrative, where a recurring piano motif anchors the composition and connects the material across the experience. Each moment contributes to a continuous emotional arc.

Across the exhibition, the sonic layer unfolds as a continuous environment. Audio guides, soundscapes, and responsive playback accompany visitors through the space, guiding perception and pacing. Dedicated recording sessions, including period-inspired drum recordings and vocal productions with a Monroe interpreter, bring a tactile and contemporary acoustic presence to the work.
